New Restaurant Alert: The Wine Lab
Another Detty December week and another new opening in Lagos. This time, meet The Wine Lab. The name is pretty much a tell but The Wine Lab is what you get when a wine bar and a fine dining restaurant walk into a bar. In their words, The Wine Lab is a “…beautifully preserved urban vineyard laced with wild spices, earth, and colours”
The Wine Lab would be remiss if it didn’t have an extensive wine menu, but it’s better we let the press release tell it.
Stepping into The Wine Lab, you are greeted by the pleasant smell of nature that permeates the atmosphere. You are welcomed by the stunning garden that spots different flowers sitting proudly in barrows, bouncing off with the smell of fresh wood beautifully hung on the walls to display the names of some of the most exclusive wine and spirit brands. Walking deeper into The Wine Lab, you are embraced by scents from premium wines and spirits, happily finding their way to the guests from the Cocktail Bar. These delightful scents, all combined, work brilliantly together to create the signature scents that The Wine Lab is known for.
Lagos restaurants really optimize for instagram and The Wine Lab isn’t too different. The space is literally a visual feast. According to the promoters, Wine Lab gives “…a 360-sensorial experience for every guest that walks through their doors.”
Fresh off being executive chef at Gordon Ramsey’s One & Only Resort in Cape Town (South Africa), Chef Treasure Makwanise has moved to Lagos to create magic at The Wine Lab.

The Wine Lab is at 11a, Goriola Street, Off Adeola Odeku Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. Their hours: Opens Tuesdays - Fridays (5pm-10:30pm), Saturdays (2pm -10:30pm) & Sundays (12pm-8pm)
